International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants

This video made for the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM) highlights limitations on work permits which leave migrant workers at the mercy of exploitative employers, while at the same time raising awareness of the value of improving work permits for them and for the society as a whole.
Today in Europe, migrant workers do essential work… and are crucial to many sectors of our economies.

But despite the huge demand for workforce, it’s incredibly difficult to come and work regularly in Europe : limits on work permits leave migrant workers at the mercy of exploitative employers.
If we increase the availability of work permits and make them decent, we can answer the huge demand for workforce and respect every person’s work.

We need permits which ensure that people can change jobs and work with proper contracts, better matching their skills and labour market demand. So that work is declared, reinforcing social security and public services. So that everyone can stand up for decent pay and working conditions without fear and abuse.
For a better society, let's make this a reality.
